White Chocolate Chex Party Mix

This White Chocolate Chex Party Mix, is the perfect dessert or snack food, to feed a crowd. It makes a lot, and it is most definitely a crowd favorite. If you are looking for the perfect movie snack, this is it.

It seems that during the holidays you always need a quick treat for the numerous parties, luncheons, potlucks, and unexpected visits.
My friend Janet whipped this recipe up a couple of weeks ago during a little holiday gathering, and I have been craving it ever since.
It is really the simplest recipe, but tastes so amazing. You can add or subtract any ingredients you like to make it how you like it.
My favorite part of this recipe: it only takes about 5 minutes from start to finish.

what is the best way to store this white chocolate chex party mix?

I have made this recipe so many times, and there is hardly any leftover.

However, if you do have any leftover, we recommend putting it in an airtight container.

It will stay good for about, 4-5 days. After that, it will probably get really soft, and won’t have much of a crunchy texture to it.

how could I make this a little more savory?

If you are looking to add a little more salt to this mixture (I am a big time salt lover), we recommend adding sea salt.

Here are a few more of our favorite additions:
-Snickers candy bars
-Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
-peanut or peanut butter M&M’s
-Nutter Butters
-Kit Kats
-Or any of your favorite holiday toppings or candy

  • 1 (10 oz) package pretzels
  • 5 cups Cheerios (you can use plain or my favorite is the Multi-Grain Peanut Butter)
  • 5 cups Corn Chex
  • 2 cups peanuts (or mixed nuts)
  • 2 (12 oz) packages plain M & M's
  • 2 (12 oz) packages white chocolate chips
  • 3 Tablespoons vegetable oil

  1. In a VERY large bowl (or two medium bowls), combine the first 5 ingredients. Set aside.
  2. In a microwave safe bowl, heat white chips and oil on high for 60 seconds (you could also melt chocolate and oil in a double boiler pan). Stir and microwave for another 30 seconds and stir until completely melted and smooth (you may need to microwave for a couple more seconds). Pour melted chocolate over cereal mix and stir until all the cereal is evenly covered with white chocolate. Spread cereal mix on 2 large baking sheets (I used cookie sheets) lined with wax paper. Let cool and then break apart into chunks.
  3. Store in an air tight container.

  1. Make sure that your microwave is high enough wattage to melt the chocolate chips. I ended up having to melt the chocolate on the stove in a double boiler which made it MUCH longer to prepare and much more labor intensive. Tastes great after all the work!
