Sweet and Salty White Chocolate Popcorn Recipe

I am a popcorn fanatic, and this one is definitely the best popcorn recipe, I've had in a while. If you are looking for a sweet and savory snack, this is the one for you. I have made this for our last three movie nights, and it has now become our favorite thing.

I have come to the conclusion that calories just don’t count during the holidays and that it’s okay to wear maternity pants for the next month or so, even if you aren’t pregnant.

I just have absolutely NO control when it comes to all these Christmas goodies.

So, if you can’t beat them, join them. I am just going to enjoy all these treats and spend January making up for it.

My family loves to watch Christmas movies every weekend- all the classics, Hallmark Christmas specials, kids’ Christmas shows – I love them all.

the perfect combination.

This is a perfect snack that you can make in large quantities that’s perfect for munching on while you drink hot cocoa and watch your favorite holiday movies. It’s also great for parties.

If you are looking for a good hot chocolate recipe to make with it, you need to try our Nutella Hot Chocolate.

It is out of this world. Handful of popcorn and a sip of hot cocoa. It’s the little things.

wanting to add more savor?

I love salt. I put salt on my salt. I don’t care what you tell me, I don’t care if it shortens my life, it makes me happy.

I love adding a little extra salt to my popcorn. If you are looking to add a little more salt to your popcorn, I recommend adding a sprinkle of Sea Salt.

what else could I add to this popcorn?

I love my treats, and mixing treats is even better.

Here are a few of my favorite things to add to this popcorn (maybe not all at one time, but a few additions):

-Orange or raspberry sticks
-Peanut butter cups
-Peanut  or peanut butter M&M’s
-Cashews
-Chocolate covered almonds
-Caramel bits
-Snickers candy bars

how should I store this popcorn?

This popcorn can get soft pretty quick, due to the white chocolate.

However, I have found when I put this in an airtight container, it doesn’t get soft, as fast.

This will last in an airtight container for about 4-5 days.

Like Denni, I don't use the shortening. If you want extra flavor, butter is better, but does add the fat. Just the white chocolate works great. Change the add-ons for the holiday. Cinnamon hearts for Valentine's, green food coloring in the white chocolate for St. Pat's etc . Limited only by your imagination.

I'm glad all your recipes are on your blog 'cause I just bought your new 12 Days of Christmas book and I couldn't find this recipe (Sweet & Salty White Chocolate Popcorn) in it even though there is a picture of it on the cover of the book. I'll just print it out and glue it to the back page or something. Your new book is super cute! It's getting me excited about December! :)

how much un popped popcorn kernels equal 5 cups of popped popcorn? I think you pop your popcorn in a pan on the stove just like I do. Right? please let me know by sending me and e-mail at the address below. I am going to try using butter to help melt the white chocolate in a bowl set on a pan with an inch of boiling water.
