Slow Cooker Sticky Garlic Chicken

My husband can be a little picky when it comes to chicken from the slow cooker.  I knew I had to change his mind, so I whipped up this Slow Cooker Sticky Garlic Chicken and it did the trick!  You could use chicken breasts in this recipe, but I think the chicken thighs make all the difference!

  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 3 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 2 Tablespoons sriracha
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • 4 cups cooked rice, for serving
  • Cilantro, for garnish


  1. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium high heat.
  2. Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper, and place in heated oil. Let cook on a few minutes on each side until just browned.
  3. Place seared chicken thighs in slow cooker.
  4. Whisk together soy sauce, ketchup, honey, minced garlic, ginger, sriracha and lime juice. Pour over chicken.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  6. Serve over cooked rice and garnish with chopped cilantro.
