Slow Cooker Baked Beans Recipe

I never loved beans growing up.  My mom had a recipe called Calico Beans, and my whole family seemed to love it but me!  I remember one time when we were eating them for dinner and I was told I needed to take some bites of my beans.  I chewed them and “threw them up” on my mom’s new rug.  Really, I was just being dramatic and spit them out in hopes that I wouldn’t have to eat any more of them.  I may not have had to eat anymore beans, but I had to clean chewed up beans from all over the floor.  Lesson learned.

I have since grown up a little bit and can usually stand to eat beans here and there.  We have been barbecuing a lot this summer and I was in need of a new side dish.  Baked beans are the first side dish that came to mind!  Wanting to make my life even easier, I decided I would try them in my slow cooker and they were amazing!  Even a bean hater like myself devoured every last bite of them!
