Savory Salmon with Tangy Horseradish Sauce

I have always loved Horseradish. I know it's a weird sauce to like, because it has such a strong and unique flavor to it, but I have just always loved the taste? I paired it with an amazing Salmon Recipe, and my life will never be the same. It tastes amazing. You are going to love how simple and delicious this recipe is.

My little family and I are pretty healthy eaters.

One thing we have at least once a week is fish. Whether is be salmon, tilapia, crab, shrimp, trout or lobster, my kids have finally grown to love it (It took about a year of eating every week for them to like it).

Eating fish has opened a whole new set of doors when it comes to the cooking world. If you have never tried salmon before, I challenge you to give it a try. It tastes so good and it even better for you.

Your body will thank you, as well as your tastebuds.

This dish comes together in a matter of minutes and tastes delicious, like you have been slaving away all day in the kitchen.

what should i season my fish with?

For fish, some of the best seasonings are high in sodium, because salt pairs nicely with salmon.

One of our favorite seasonings, is our Old Bay seasoning. It is full of flavor and it has the most amazing look to it.

You could also do salt and pepper, and all seasoning salt, lemon pepper, or any other seasoning you prefer.

If you put it on chicken, you could just as easily pair it with salmon.

how to pick salmon:

Here are some simple steps to picking salmon at the store:

-Avoid Salmon that shows any sign of browning. This is where bad flavor and texture are going to come in. That also means too much air has gotten to it, and it hasn’t been properly stored. Avoid this Salmon.

Go for pink or red salmon.

-Find a King Salmon. They have the most flavor to them, and they can even have a more orange hue to them. You will love these a lot more. Less fishy, and more delicious tasting.

-If shopping for fish in the freezer section, find fish that are almost completely covered in ice crystals to ensure that it has properly kept in it’s moisture and flavor.

Savory Salmon with Tangy Horseradish Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1 Tablespoon horseradish sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 (3 ounce) fresh salmon fillets
  • 1 Tablespoon fish seasoning

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium high heat
  2. In a small bowl, combine the mayo, parsley, horseradish sauce, mustard and pepper and mix well. Set aside.
  3. Once the oil is heated, cover your salmon front and back with fish seasoning and place it in the skillet. Put the lid on and cook for 5 minutes. Flip the salmon and cook another 5 minutes.
  4. Once it is done and easily flakes, take it out of the pan and let it cool for a few minutes.
  5. Serve with tangy horseradish sauce.
