Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Rice Krispies Treats

I am the biggest Reese's Peanut Butter Cup fan, you will ever meet. But turn them into a rice krispie treat, and you are speaking my love language. These are the best treat or dessert, that is definitely a crowd favorite.

Once again, my love of all things peanut butter and chocolate took over and I had no control. I am doing pretty well with the 8-Week Challenge, but this little treat here was my weakness.
I might not have won the competition last week between my sisters . . . but these were totally worth it. Every bite, just felt right. They are soft and chewy with the perfect amount of sweet and salty.
They are incredible. Truly incredible.
I don’t think that I will ever eat regular Rice Krispies Treats again. These were just too good, that the original marshmallow just seems boring (let’s be honest, I’d still eat it, but dream of these bad boys instead.)
You can spread them out in a pan, and cut them into squares, or you can roll them into a ball, and have little individual treats. If you do them in a pan, you will probably want to use a cookie sheet.
This recipe makes a lot, so it’s a great one for feeding a crowd.

what other cereal could i make these with?

I am also a large cereal lovers, and know my cereals very well. If you are looking to switch out the Rice Krispies for a different cereal, I definitely have a few recommendations for you, that will definitely add amazing crunch and flavor.

Here is what I recommend:

-Cocoa Puffs
-Reese’s Puffs
-Chocolate Rice Krispies
-Peanut Butter Cheerios
-Frosted Cheerios
-Frosted Flakes
-Chocolate Chex
-Cocoa Pebbles
-Chocolate Toast Crunch
-Golden Grahams

You could really use any cereal you desire, but these would be the ones I highly recommend. You could say I’m fairly experienced with my chocolate and peanut butter cereal bars.

  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Cup Corn Syrup
  • 1 1/3 Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 4 1/4 Cup Rice Krispies
  • 1 Pinch of Salt
  • 4 Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, chopped (or 12 bite-sized Reese's Peanut Butter Cups)
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips

  1. In a large sauce pan over medium heat, melt the sugar, corn syrup, and peanut butter until smooth and evenly combined.
  2. Remove from heat.
  3. Quickly add the salt and cereal and stir to combine thoroughly. Add the chocolate chips and stir again. Wait about 1 min and add the candy, quickly folding the mixture together so as to not smash up the candy.
  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and drop rounded tablespoons onto the sheet. Let cool (or you can eat them while they are warm and gooey- try and resist them!) and enjoy!
  5. I got about 30 Rice Krispy "balls" out of this recipe- it just depends what size you make them.
