  • 15.25 ounces Devils Food cake mix
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 12 peanut butter cups (full size circle), cut into sixths
  • 4 snack size butterfinger candy bars, coarsely chopped
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup peanut butter, creamy
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees for a generously greased 9 x 13 inch glass pan.
  2. Combine the cake mix, melted butter, and egg and mix until combined. Cover the bottom of the greased pan evenly with the cake mixture.
  3. Spread the peanut butter cups and butterfinger pieces over the cake mixture.
  4. Mix together the cream cheese, peanut butter and eggs and vanilla until well blended. Then add the butter.
  5. Then mix in the powdered sugar until well blended. Spread over the candy bar layer.
  6. Bake for about 55 minutes. It will puff up in the center and will drop a little after you remove it from the oven. Let cool.
  7. Mix chocolate chips and vegetable oil in a microwave safe dish and spread over the cooked cake when it's cooled.

  1. Help! I'm in the middle of making this cake. So I mixed the cake mix, 1 egg and 1/2 cup melted butter but the batter is dry and thick. Was I supposed to follow directions on cake box in addition to adding the egg and butter? If not it doesn't seem like it would mix very well....plz help ?

Question...I made this - baked it the full 55 minutes but should it be a little gooey in the top layer? Or is this one you should do the toothpick test on & bake longer if needed? Granted I couldn’t wait for it to fully cool & still very warm LOL. Maybe I should’ve waited longer?
