what is an ingredient to substitue whipping cream?
This recipe calls for whipping cream. This is found in the dairy section of your grocery store, right by the milk.
However, if you do not have whipping cream, or don’t have it on hand, you could use milk instead. We highly recommend using a higher percentage of milk, or a whole milk, if you do choose to use milk over whipping cream.
It will be thinner than whipping cream, and may cause a small difference in texture, but you should be fine.
do these freeze well?
These brownies do freeze quite well. They are better fresh, but I have frozen them, and they thaw nicely.
We recommend freezing them in an airtight container.
To thaw them, we recommend removing them from the freezer the night before serving or at least 8 hours before you plan to serve them. We highly discourage microwaving them. It will melt the frosting and the chocolate, while keeping the middle of the brownie frozen.
These will last nicely in the freezer for about two weeks. We do not recommend freezing them for longer than that.
