Peaches and Cream French Toast

When it comes to bread, I am super picky with that I feed my kids. I am always checking the ingredients label to make sure it’s made with wholesome ingredients that I can pronounce. When I heard about Harper’s Homemade bread, I was blown away that it only had 5 ingredients and that it wasn’t loaded with preservatives and chemicals. Also, it literally tastes amazing – as the name states, it tastes like homemade bread! This was the first time that I had ever seen a bread like this at the grocery store.

When I shared this find on our Facebook page, it resonated with so many of you. We are all searching for healthy foods to feed our family that won’t break the bank and this bread falls perfectly in that category! This bread is also locally grown in Idaho (the wheat is from a family-owned farm!) and as I learned more about the company, I learned that their purpose is all about giving back. They currently make more bread than they can sell purposely – they have partnered with local food banks, community centers, and shelters to donate their extra bread to. This company is truly amazing.

I wanted to share one of the recipes that I make with Harper’s Homemade bread . . . this is one of our favorites for a delicious breakfast!

Peaches and Cream French Toast

Ingredients

  • 8 pieces Harper's Homemade Whole Wheat bread
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 peaches, diced (remove skins if desired)
  • 1 (7.5 oz) container honey pecan cream cheese spread

Instructions

  1. Preheat nonstick skillet or griddle to medium heat.
  2. In a shallow dish, beat together milk, eggs, vanilla, and cinnamon.
  3. Dip each piece of bread in the milk mixture, making sure both sides are coated, and cook on skillet or griddle until both sides are browned (about 4-5 minutes).
  4. Spread honey pecan cream cheese on one piece of french toast and sprinkle with diced peaches. Top with another slice of french toast and add additional peaches if desired.
  5. Drizzle with maple syrup and serve!
