M&M Magic Cookie Bars

These M&M Magic Cookie Bars are the perfect sweet treat, to satisfy your sweet tooth. They were so simple, quick, and tasted absolutely amazing.

My husband started his first day of Residency a little bit ago.

I made these M&M Magic Cookie Bars to hopefully calm his nerves. He was actually so nervous he couldn’t even eat one.

But don’t worry, once he got home he ate about 5 of them (they were that good.) Hope you love them as much as we do.

We took our Magic Cookie bars and gave them a delicious and fun twist. We are big M&M lovers at our house (okay really just anything that has chocolate, we will devour).

But these were a huge hit. Did I hide the last three from my kids so I could eat them myself? Why yes. Yes I did.

what could i use instead of graham cracker, for the crust?

I am a sucker for a good graham cracker crust. I like my crust thick, and these bars have a good size crust.

However, if you don’t have any graham crackers on hand, or are looking to switch things up, here are a few replacements I recommend:

  • Vanilla Wafers
  • Vanilla Oreo’s (we recommend removing the frosting, but you could keep it in. They just won’t set up as well).
  • Golden Graham Cereal
  • Graham Sticks
  • Teddy Graham or Cupcake flavored Gold Fish
  • Frosted Cheerios
  • Biscoff Cookies

Really any sweet vanilla cracker or cookie would work for this recipe.

Add a little peanut butter flavor:

I love chocolate and peanut butter. I you are looking to switch things up, here is what I recommend:

  • add 1/3 cup creamy (or chunky) peanut butter to the crust batter.
  • add peanut butter chips.
  • add Reese’s Pieces instead of M & M’s (or do both. I won’t judge).
  • add Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup pieces to the batter.

You could also do a combination of it all. If you don’t like coconut with peanut butter, you could easily replace your coconut with the peanut buttery goods.

  1. These were okay, some people however really liked them at the party i made them for. I thought they were too thin. Ithink the concept is there but ithink if they were thicker i would have liked them better. I also thought they had too much of the chocolate on top, maybe a better balance would be to make the bottom thicker or try a premade cookie bottom and just add the m&m and coconut. I dont think i would make this again.
