Margherita Pizza

I recently tried Margherita Pizza at a restaurant and was skeptical at first…because it wasn’t overloaded with toppings and there was BASIL on it. Just straight up basil leaves on the pizza. But after I tasted it, it became one of my immediate favorites! I seriously can’t get enough of it!

This Margherita Pizza was a nice change from my regular pepperoni and cheese! The basil and mozzarella make it taste SO good!

  • 2 small (or one large) pizza crust
  • 1 10-oz can of pureed sun-dried tomato & basil sauce
  • 1 small package of fresh Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 Roma tomato, sliced
  • fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Top pizza crusts with sauce, cheese, tomato and basil leaves. Drizzle olive oil on top and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Be sure not to overdo the toppings - you want to be able to taste them all AND the delicious sauce and crust. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until crust/cheese starts to turn golden.

You don't have to use fresh basil and fresh Mozzarella, but it tastes better that way! You can also substitute your sundried tomato and basil sauce for any other sauce you'd like.
