Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I love the family being all together in one place, and celebrating everything we have in our lives, over a delicious dinner.
However, the pressure is sort of on, especially if you are in charge of the turkey.
The turkey is the most important part of the Thanksgiving dinner, so you have to get it right. Not to put even more pressure on you or anything, but it has to be the star of the dinner.
You don’t want a Christmas Vacation repeat where he cuts into the turkey, and it’s just crunchy skin. No! You want a juicy, tender turkey, full of delicious sweet and savory flavor.
So, we give you our Maple Galzed Turkey Breast recipe, that is sure to please a crowd. All your Thanksgiving stresses can come to an end, because we have got you covered this year.
This Maple Glazed Turkey Breast is the perfect recipe if you are feeding a smaller crowd for Thanksgiving. The glaze is so full of flavor and the turkey is so juicy and tender.
how to make the maple glaze
The maple glaze on this turkey recipe, is so simple. Here is how you make it:
Step 1: Mix together the maple syrup, smoke flavoring, paprika, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and cayenne pepper in a bowl, stirring to combine well.
That is all the ingredients in the maple glaze. This will begin to get caramelized as you cook it, and it will seep into the turkey. It tastes amazing.
Step 2: Brush the syrup mixture all over the turkey roast. I did this with a basting brush, but you could use a spoon, rubber spatula, or even your hands.
Step 3: Place the roast, skin side up, on a baking rack set in a roasting pan. Roast in the preheated oven, basting occasionally, until the roast is golden brown and a meat thermometer inserted into the center of the roast reads 170 degrees F, about 1 1/2 hours.
how do you know when a turkey is done cooking?
Cooking Turkey can be a difficult task when you don’t have one of those red buttons that pops up when it has reached a certain temperature.
However, using a meat thermometer, you can see how hot your turkey is, on your own. When a turkey is done cooking, it should have reached an internal temperature of 170 degrees.
You can also tell by slicing into it. If all the pink is gone, and the juice runs clear, your turkey is done and ready to go.

Thanksgiving side dishes are my personal favorite part about Thanksgiving.
Here are a few that you have to have at your Thanksgiving dinner this year:
Sweet potatoes: I’m not just talking your regular sweet potatoes, I’m talking about smothered in butter and topped with marshmallows, sweet potatoes. It’s your one meal to go all out. You have to try our Mom’s Sweet Potato recipe. It’s amazing.
Mashed Potatoes: It’s not Thanksgiving dinner without mashed potatoes. I love our Make Ahead Mashed Potatoes, because Thanksgiving can get a little crazy, but these save great, and reheat even better.
Green Beans: Vegetables are a little over rated during thanksgiving dinner, however, these Green Beans with Candied Pecans are out of this world. You have to try them.
Jell-O: Switch up your side dish this year with our favorite and popular 12 Layer Jello. Don’t let it intimidate you, it’s actually super easy to make.
Pie: Pumpkin Pie is okay, but have you ever tried Apple Cinnamon Roll Pie. Yes, you read that right. The crust is made out of cinnamon rolls.
