Hershey’s Hug Brownie Cookies Recipe

These Hershey's Hug Brownie Cookies are easy to make and taste absolutely amazing. they only require a few simple ingredients, and taste like brownies, but better. The two best worlds, brownies and cookies, have collided to make your new favorite dessert.

One of my all-time favorite desserts is my Mom’s Chocolate Marshmallow Brownies.  There’s nothing like brownies made from scratch.

These cookies taste just like a brownie and the Hershey’s Hug on top makes them even better.

do these cookies freeze well?

I have a strange obsession with frozen cookies. I usually don’t have any leftover to freeze, because I love eating cookies as soon as they come out of the oven (I even take the risk of getting a burnt tongue from the melted chocolate), but frozen cookies are so yummy.

These cookies freeze pretty well. You can eat them slightly frozen, or freeze them or up to a month.

To freeze them, we recommend placing them in an airtight container or double wrapping them in both saran wrap and aluminum foil, for the best results.

To thaw them, you can microwave them, (this may melt your hug more than you would like it to) but I usually take mine out of the freezer, 24 hours before serving them, and they are perfect and chewy.

what could i use instead of a hug?

I love Hugs. You wouldn’t even have to dare me to eat an entire bag of them, by myself. I honestly just can’t get enough of them.

However, if you don’t have any on hand, or can’t find them at the store, here are a few other delicious replacements that would work just as well:

  • Seasonal Hershey’s Holiday Kisses
  • Chocolate Hershey’s Chocolate Kiss
  • Andes Mints
  • Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
  • Rolo’s
  • Jr. Mints
  • Peppermint Patties
  • Mini Snickers Bar (the small square one, or you could also use the mini unwrapped ones as well).
  • Oreo Cookie
  • Twix Candy Bar

This Homemade Pizzookie Cookie is my new favorite thing. It is so simple to make and tastes absolutely amazing. The best part is when it comes out of the oven, and you put that scoop of ice cream on top, and take the first bite. I think it’s what heaven tastes like. Watch how easy it is to make, here:

  1. Thanks for the recipe. Was wondering if you ladies would consider putting a photo on the "print out " version for those of us who would like a visual reminder of why we printed it out and also of what the finished product should look like?
