Healthy Meals Monday: Honey Broiled Salmon

Give me all the yummy salmon recipes. I am a sucker for a delicious fish recipe. My kids, who are not fans of fish, loved this Honey Broiled Salmon. The honey crystalizes a little bit, giving it a sweeter, taste, and my kids absolutely loved it. It's also healthy, so I feel great feeding it to them.

I am all about easy dinners at our house. I am usually on the go, taking kids from one place to the next, helping them with homework, cleaning up after them, and waiting patiently (sorta) for my husband to come home from work.
Life is kinda crazy, but we are loving every minute of it. Throughout all the chaos, I want to feed my kids, healthy, nutritious and yummy meals, but it’s hard to find time.
This Honey Broiled Salmon is the perfect recipe, for those busy days, where I feel like I have absolutely no time to prepare a meal for my family.
I was unsure if they’d like it at first, because we have quite a few picky eaters at our house, but every single one of them, gobbled this right up.
My husband loved it, and even took the leftovers to work the next day.
This recipe is simple, fast, delicious, and very healthy, so you can feel good, feeding it to your family. Did I mention it’s quick? Because we are all about fast meals at our house, and this one is FAST.

Healthy Meals Monday: Honey Broiled Salmon

Ingredients

  • 1 Tablespoon of minced onion
  • 2 Tablespoons of reduced sodium soy sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon of red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon of Worshireshire sacue
  • 1 Tablespoon of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of ground ginger
  • 1 pound of frozen salmon fillets (thawed)
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Whisk onions, soy sauce, vinegar, honey and ginger in a small bowl until the honey is dissolved. Place salmon in a plastic Ziplock bag. Place 3 Tablespoons of the mixture into the bag with the salmon and put it in the refrigerator to marinade for at least 15 minutes (a couple of hours is much better).
  2. Preheat broiler. Line a small pan with foil. Then spray foil well with non-stick cooking spray.
  3. Place salmon into the pan and broil it for 6 to 10 minutes until it is cooked through. Drizzle with the reserved sauce and garnish with sesame seeds.
