Ground Beef Tostadas

The quicker I can get dinner on the table, the better! If I know I have a quick and easy dinner recipe on the menu, I’m more likely to actually make it instead of going through the drive through!

The best part is, the longest part of the recipe is browning ground beef – and that I can totally handle! Also, just to let you in on a little secret – it goes EVEN QUICKER if you have this handy-dandy little tool.

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 (15 ounce) can pinto beans (drained and rinsed)
  • 1 cup chunky salsa
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 12 tostadas
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 1 tomato (diced)
  • sour cream, for topping
  • shredded Mexican blend cheese, for topping
  • chopped cilantro, for topping


  1. In a large skillet, brown ground beef. Drain any excess grease.
  2. Add pinto beans, salsa, chili powder, and cumin to ground beef and stir until heated through.
  3. Top each tostada with ground beef mixture, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, cheese, and cilantro and serve.
