Easy Parmesan Crescent Rolls

When you are short on time, whip up a batch of these Parmesan Crescent Rolls using a tube of refrigerated crescent rolls! They are the perfect side dish that is ready in minutes.

When we were growing up, our mom always made rolls on Sundays to serve with Sunday dinner. I don’t think that there is anything better than warm bread to go with any meal!

I love making our homemade 30 Minute Dinner Rolls, but let’s be honest . . . sometimes you don’t even have 30 minutes to spare! Which is where these little Parmesan Crescent Roll-Ups come in handy!

The shortcut that makes these rolls so easy is that you use a package of refrigerated crescent roll dough. But instead of rolling them up in the traditional way, I rolled them up more like a cinnamon roll.

Ingredients needed for Parmesan Crescent Rolls

  • 1 tube refrigerated crescent dough
  • 2 Tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • Garlic powder, oregano, and thyme to taste

How to make Parmesan Crescent Rolls

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Pour half of the melted butter into the bottom of a 8×8″ baking pan.
  • Roll out the tube of dough and pinch all the seams together so that you have one sheet of dough (sometimes you can also buy a sheet of crescent dough – if your store has this available, I would totally recommend it!).

  • Sprinkle half of the Parmesan cheese all over the dough. Lightly sprinkle garlic powder, oregano, and thyme on the dough as desired.
  • Roll up the dough length-wise (like a long, skinny tube) and using a sharp knife, carefully slice the dough into 1″ pieces. You should get 8-9 pieces.

  • Place the dough slices into the prepared pan. Using a basting brush, brush remaining butter on top of rolls. Sprinkle remaining Parmesan cheese on top of rolls as well (I used a little bigger pan than 8×8″ – if your rolls are touching before they bake, it’s totally fine).

  • Bake for 11-13 minutes or until the tops of the rolls start to turn golden.

What kind of Parmesan cheese should I use?

For this recipe, I recommend using freshly shredded Parmesan cheese – I like to buy it from the deli at the grocery store and shred it myself.

You can buy pre-shredded Parmesan cheese and use it in this recipe, but I feel that the pre-shredded cheese doesn’t melt as nice as freshly shredded cheese does.

If you want, you could also use the powdered grated Parmesan cheese. It will have a completely different flavor and texture, but I think that it would still be delicious! If you try it, leave a comment below and let us know!
