Easy No Bake Oat Granola Bars

These Easy No Bake Oat Granola Bars are so easy to make and come together in minutes. They only require a few simple ingredients and taste absolutely delicious.

I have always wanted to make some granola bars from scratch but have always been afraid they wouldn’t turn out.
Then I found some that were No – Bake and I knew I had to give them a try. My husband and girls loved them and I loved them because they were SO easy to make.
They were way better than any packaged granola bar I have ever eaten, and just tasted so fresh and chewy. They were pretty much like a dessert. They were amazing.
If you need a quick snack, breakfast, or meal replacement bar, this recipe is definitely recommended and picky eater approved.

what can i use instead of peanut butter?

For this recipe, we love the peanut butter. However, we get that some people don’t prefer it, or have an allergy to it.

You can easily replace the peanut butter in this recipe with:

  • cashew butter
  • almond butter
  • sunflower seed butter
  • coconut butter
  • hazelnut butter
  • pecan butter
  • pistachio butter

We do recommend the taste and texture of peanut butter, but any of these alternatives would work as well.

make them bite size:

If you want, you can also make these into little bite sized balls. My kids like them as bars, but I have made them in the ball form as well, and they are just as delicious. I just place them in an air tight container and leave them in my fridge for a quick snack on the go.

They are even more delicious when they are cold.

are these more chewy or crunchy?

These bars are a little more on the chewy side. If you are looking to make them crunchy, you could bake them a little bit, at a low temperature for about 20 minutes, or until it has reached it’s desired crunchiness.

Ingredients

  • 4 Tablespoons of Chocolate Chips
  • 4 Tablespoons of Peanut Butter
  • 3 Tablespoons of Skim Milk
  • 1 cup of Old Fashioned Oats
  • 2 teaspoons of Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Tablespoons of Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons of Raisins

Instructions

  1. Melt the Chocolate chips, the peanut butter, and milk in the microwave for 30 second intervals, stirring after each 30 seconds until the ingredient are completely melted.
  2. Then add the rest of the ingredients- you want this mixture to be fairly dry. If it is not dry enought you may need to add a little bit more oatmeal.
  3. Press the mixture into bars or balls. (I used an 8X8 pan)
  4. Put in the refrigerator or freezer for 10 minutes or until they are set up. Cut them or break them apart.

  1. I made these last night. I love the idea and the recipe was pretty good, but I believe WAY too much vanilla. I measured out 2T and then when I was adding it in the smell was overwhelming so I stopped. I ended up adding maybe about 1T. But after tasting them I will probably leave the vanilla out all together next time. They were pretty good and very easy to make.

Just a friendly reminder to change the amount of vanilla extract in your recipe above. I just made these bars, but had to throw out my first batch because I followed the recipe and added 2 tbsp of vanilla. I had a feeling it was way too much, and boy, was it. Too bad I didn't read the comments before adding it. That said, I nixed the vanilla completely on the second batch and added chopped almonds. They were delicious! Next time I think I will make them into balls rather than bars, as they feel apart when I cut them. I'm really trying to stay away from any processed foods, especially for my kids, so these are a perfect and easy snack for our whole family. Thanks!
