I am a huge fan of street tacos but can never quite figure out how to make them taste as good and authentic at home. Well today we might have come close to cracking the recipe! Best part about them? They only take a few minutes to throw together! They might not taste like the tacos from your favorite taco truck, but I can promise they will be your new favorite go to tacos on a busy weeknight!
These Easy Chicken Street Tacos are the perfect amount of flavor and spice. Depending on your spice level, you can add a hotter salsa, but I like mine mild and my husband likes his hot. To me, the thing that makes this recipe are the small tortillas. Growing up we always ate tacos on big tortillas, but I like the little ones because you can try different combinations with each taco. My husband likes adding more to his tacos like banana peppers, chiles, salsas, etc. I personally love the feta cheese with these. The taste is amazing, and squirt a little lime juice on there…. yum! They taste so good! If you aren’t a feta or blue cheese fan, you can use any cheese! I have tried cheddar cheese on them as well and they tasted just as good.

For this recipe, you can use a yellow onion, but I sometimes prefer the sweeter taste of a red onion. And I feel like they make me cry less when I chop them…?
I also love the fresh combination of cilantro and lime juice on my tacos. Without them, it just wouldn’t be a street taco. It tastes so fresh and with the texture of the tortilla, chicken, and feta cheese, you can’t go wrong. I also like to add a little rice to my tacos, or have them as a side. Our easy Mexican Salsa Rice is one of my favorite side dishes. We also like making our Easy Blender Salsa and dipping our chips, or add it to our tacos.
The most delicious part of this recipe, the chicken. The seasonings all come together and form a beautiful flavor. If you don’t have all the seasonings, you can also use a taco seasoning packet. They are usually found near the salsa aisle at grocery stores.
