Dark Chocolate Frozen Banana Bites

Now that my baby is six weeks old, I am trying to get back in shape!  As a food blogger, you can guess I often have a lot of desserts around the house.  I have a major sweet tooth and I have the hardest time eating healthy and not having treats everyday!  These banana bites help satisfy my sweet tooth and I don’t feel as guilty as when I eat these instead of a candy bar. 🙂

Dark Chocolate Frozen Banana Bites

Bananas dipped in dark chocolate, rolled in all kinds of tasty toppings and frozen to make a delicious snack!

  • 4 bananas
  • 2 cups dark chocolate chips
  • 2 Tablespoons coconut oil
  • Coconut, optional
  • Sprinkles, optional
  • Graham cracker crumbs, optional


  1. Cover a baking sheet with wax paper.
  2. Cut up bananas into bite-sized pieces.
  3. Heat the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave safe bowl for about 2 minutes, or until melted. Stir until smooth.
  4. Dip the banana pieces in the chocolate and dip or roll in assorted toppings.
  5. Place bananas on prepared baking sheet and place in freezer for an hour or until frozen.
  6. Store in an airtight container in your freezer.

    These are exactly the kind of snacks I like nibble on ......Dr. Oz says if you eat chocolate at 3 p.m. the calories don't count! Something about where your body is in the metabolism cycle....hey, it works for me! Thanks for the recipe!
