With this spring weather I can’t help but crave fresh and healthy food. It also reminds me that swimsuit season is right around the corner, and a little healthy eating can do the body good.

I love creating fresh food that tastes amazing, and this salad is exactly that. It’s easy, fast, delicious, healthy, and full of fresh flavor. You will love it.

We threw together this Chicken and Pear Quinoa Salad for lunch and knew we had to share it.

The flavors blend together perfectly, and you can use any dressing you want, making this healthy lunch option just about the most delicious thing you’ll ever eat.

I love this salad, because it is so versatile. You can make it as sweet or savory as you’d like.

I love my salads loaded with all the good stuff. I like my salad with all the things on it, because it gives it more flavor and variety.

Here are a few of my favorite salad additions and recommendations:

-Blue Cheese: I know this recipe calls for Feta, but blue cheese would taste just as delicious, if not more. The more bitter cheeses taste better with salad. Parmesan cheese would also be a great cheese for this.

-Pecans: I love the almonds on this salad, but really any nut would be delicious with it.

-Celery: This is a simple vegetable to sneak into this salad, because it doesn’t have a lot of taste, and pairs nicely with fruit. You will love the extra crunch as well.

-Cucumbers: They add a similar texture and flavor as well as celery. They add that crunch the salad needs, as well as sneaks in a few more greens, to your diet.

-Raspberries: I am the biggest raspberry fan. This salad would really be good with any berry, but since the dressing is raspberry vinaigrette, they would taste delicious with this salad.

-Mangoes: If you have never tried mangoes on a salad, you need to right away. They add the perfect amount of sweetness, and flavor to any salad. You will love it.

-Tuna: If you need a chicken replacement, I have also tried this salad with tuna and it was out of this world, delicious. It was easy to make and full of flavor.

-Bacon Bits: Bacon Bits add the perfect amount of salty, savory, goodness. You will love it. It also adds a little more protein to your salad.

  • 1 (10 oz) Package of Baby Spinach
  • 3/4 Cup Uncooked Quinoa
  • 2/3 Cup Dried Cranberries
  • 2/3 Cup Honey Roasted Sliced Almonds
  • 2 Pears, Chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons of Feta Cheese
  • 3 Medium Chicken Breasts (cooked and chopped)- We love Tyson's Grilled and Ready Chicken for an easy substitute!
  • Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing (Or your favorite salad dressing!)


  1. Cook quinoa according to directions.
  2. In a bowl, toss together spinach, cranberries, almonds, pears, chicken, feta cheese, and quinoa.
  3. Serve with your favorite dressing and enjoy. We love Private Selections Lite Raspberry Vinaigrette with ours.
