Butterfinger Caramel Cake Recipe


I had originally planned to post something cute and lovely for Valentine’s day, but trust me . . . this cake is the epitome of love! It is simple to make, but tastes amazing. The gooey caramel and the peanut-butter goodness of Butterfingers take this cake over the top!

Ingredients

  • 4 (1.9 ounce) crushed butterfinger candy bars, divided
  • 1 (15.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (12.25 ounce) jar caramel ice cream topping
  • 1 (8 ounce) package Cool Whip

Instructions

  1. Place candy bars in freezer. Make cake according to directions on the package.
  2. While cake is baking, mix milk and caramel topping until well blended. When the cake is done and while it?s still hot, poke holes all over in it with a fork. The more holes you poke, the more caramel sauce will seep through the cake. Pour caramel/milk mixture over the cake. Allow the cake to cool completely.
  3. Pull candy bars out of freezer and smash with a hammer while they are still in their packages. Sprinkle two candy bars (half of them) over cake. Spread Cool Whip over the candy bars. Then sprinkle the remaining candy bars on top. Chill for at least an hour before serving. Place leftovers in the fridge (if you have any).

  1. I have made this cake for a awhile now with a different twist..we call it the "better then sex cake". Same exact steps using devils food cake mix and i just pour the carmel right over the cake( no sweet condensed milk) and use Heath bars!! It's to die for so I can't wait to try thust version!

  4. I made this cake yesterday for a friends birthday. Can I just say it was and is amazing! I used Sugar Free Caramel Topping and Fat Free Cool Whip. My husband was convinced he wasn't going to like it because he isn't a fan of caramel and butterfingers, but he is totally sold on it. Everyone loved it. I just found your site the other day and I will definitely be searching for other recipes to try. I always do dinner and a cake for our friends birthday. Next birthday is in February.
