One of my favorite appetizers is deep fried mozzarella sticks, however I don’t love all the calories that come with them.
This baked version is easy to make at home and helps cut down on calories, while you still get to enjoy all that cheesy flavor.
how could I make these healthier?
If you are looking to make these Mozzarella Cheese Sticks a little more healthy, there is definitely a main ingredient you could switch out.
This recipe calls for all purpose flour. However, you could also use whole wheat flour for this recipe.
It also calls for bread crumbs, but you could also easily replace these with whole wheat bread crumbs as well.
They are both great alternatives, that you won’t be able to taste very well.
If you do add your own whole wheat bread crumbs, be sure to season them with Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and garlic salt.
what could i dip these in?
I am all about dipping my food. I love all the sauces and flavors, especially when it comes to dipping my mozzarella cheese sticks.

You could also try dipping it in any of your other favorite sauces. I prefer to dip mine in ranch and barbecue sauce combined. Don’t be grossed out until you try it. It is absolutely delicious.
