Baked Apple Cider Donut Holes

These are the perfect weekend breakfast!  You won’t believe how fast and easy to make, and they taste amazing!  We love eating them warm right out of the oven after being rolled in the cinnamon sugar!  Mmmmmm!

Baked Apple Cider Donut Holes

These moist and tasty apple cider donut holes are loaded with apple cider flavor! Great for breakfast or a snack.

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons applesauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • Cinnamon/Sugar Coating:
  • 5 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar


  1. In a large bowl stir together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt.
  2. In another bowl whisk together the egg, melted butter, and brown sugar. Then add the buttermilk, applesauce, vanilla, and apple cider.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the bowl of dry ingredients and whisk together just until combined. Do not overstir.
  4. Pour the batter into lightly sprayed mini muffin tins. Fill each muffin 3/4 full. Bake for 8 minutes at 350 degrees.
  5. While the donut holes are baking melt the butter in a microwave safe bowl. In another bowl combine the sugar and cinnamon together.
  6. When the donut holes come out of the oven dip the top of each donut hole into the melted butter, then dip into the cinnamon/sugar mixture.
