Apple Cider Dump Cake

I am loving everything that has to do with Fall! The leaves, the smells, the chill in the air. I am seriously obsessed. I am also becoming obsessed with Apple Cider. I probably drink 3-4 cups each day and still can’t seem to get enough of it. (You don’t need to remind me how much sugar is in there, I know!).

You can probably imagine with this new obsession that I have been trying to sneak it into all of my recipes. We shared some delicious Apple Cider Roast earlier this week and today I am sharing one of my favorite dump cakes, with an apple cider twist!

  • 2 (20 oz) cans apple pie filling
  • 1 Tablespoon apple cinnamon cider drink mix (just the powder)
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons nutmeg
  • 1 (11 oz) bag Kraft caramels
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 3/4 cup butter

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Grease a 9x13 baking dish
  3. In a bowl, mix together apple pie filling, cider powder, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
  4. Pour mixture into bottom of pan and spread evenly.
  5. Unwrap kraft caramels and cut them in half. Top apple mixture with caramels. You may not use the whole bag, we had a few leftover.
  6. Top apples and caramel with yellow cake mix. Spread it evenly over all the mixture so everything is covered in the mix.
  7. Cut butter into thin slices, make a layer over cake mix with thin butter, covering as much space as you can.
  8. Top with cinnamon and sugar if desired.
  9. Bake for 45 minutes or until cake begins to turn golden brown.
  10. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped topping, and of course, apple cider!
