Holiday Shrimp Dip Recipe

Every year for Thanksgiving and Christmas, my Grandma Adamson had a Cream Cheese Shrimp Cocktail Dip. That was one of the things I looked forward to the most. One year when I was 10 years old,  I accidentally dropped it on her light green carpet and stained it. I never dared tell her who it was. Sorry Grandma! Anyway… I added a little twist on it and it tastes amazing! I brought it to a family get together and it was gone if a very short amount of time.

  • 1 (8 ounce) fat free cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups of frozen shrimp, thawed
  • 1 (8 ounce) jar cocktail sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, diced
  • 5 Green Onions, chopped
  • assorted crackers for dipping

  1. Spread cream cheese in an even layer on a serving dish or in the bottom of a glass pie pan. Combine shrimp with cocktail sauce in a bowl and spread evenly over the cream cheese layer. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, covering the shrimp layer. Sprinkle the red pepper and green onions over the cheese layer.
  2. Serve with your favorite crackers. My favorites are Wheat Thins and Triscuits.
  3. Happy Dipping!!!

  1. This is similar to my families' favorite dip. We put an 8 oz. block of cream cheese on a plate, top it with a zippy cocktail sauce, top that with salad shrimp, and sprinkle with chives or parsley (no peppers or cheese, please!). Serve with Waverly Wafers (they're the BEST!) and it always disappears!
